New fiction book weaves a fascinating tale of tenacity. But it also advocates that integrity and adaptability working in tandem can produce hugely positive and deeply impactful results.

Welcome to a journey through time and determination, where the relentless pursuit of justice collides with the grit of the human spirit. This narrative unfurls in a period where the shadows of human trafficking cast a chilling pall over a hometown. Yet, amidst this darkness, emerges a beacon of hope in the form of Pa Solomon.

Pa Solomon's story is not just about fighting against the horrors of human trafficking but also about the indomitable will to bring about lasting change. It's a testament to the power of integrity and adaptability working in tandem. In a world where principles are foundational, Solomon's journey teaches us that adaptability is equally crucial. He navigates through the complexities of embracing a new religion, understanding its benefits, and witnessing transformative societal shifts. These changes bring forth not just relocations but also new opportunities such as formal education, highlighting the advantages of embracing change and diversity.

Through Solomon's eyes, we see the transformative power of embracing one's unique identity. It's a reminder that our differences aren't limitations but pathways to unlocking untapped potential.

Lovers of good books are invited to immerse themselves in this narrative that celebrates resilience, integrity, adaptability, and the unwavering commitment to creating a better world. Welcome to an odyssey of courage and change.

POSTCARD FROM CAIRO - Notes on the 2023 publishing fellowship
By Segun Martins Fajemisin February 2, 2023
POSTCARD FROM CAIRO - Notes on the 2023 publishing fellowship “ Every act of communication is a miracle of translation .” - Ken Liu, ‘The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories’ This year’s edition of the publishing fellowship, ‘Cairo Calling 6.0’ has now concluded and with great success. The programme was full of warmth and an endearing atmosphere of Egyptian hospitality. Geared towards presenting the abundance of publishing resources available from Egypt and the Arab world, it was also an opportunity for professionals in the industry from outside the region to take up translation and the publishing of books in Arabic into other languages. It is envisaged that the exchange of publishing rights would facilitate spreading the reach of the avalanche of resources produced in the region. Immensely grateful to the organisers at the General Egyptian Book Organisation (GEBO) for inviting me to the 2023 Publishing Fellowship.
